The crypto and blockchain industry has seen a surge in activity at conferences this year, with web3 startup pitch competitions and venture capital investments taking center stage.
Web3 Summit: On March 25-27, the Web3 Summit brought together over 2,000 attendees to the San Francisco Convention Center. The event featured a $1 million pitch competition for early-stage startups, with winners including Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocol, YieldHub, and Non-Fungible Token (NFT) marketplace, Artify.
"The Web3 Summit was an incredible experience," said conference organizer, Jane Smith. "We saw a remarkable turnout from investors, entrepreneurs, and innovators in the space."
Meanwhile, at the Blockchain & Beyond Conference held on April 1-2 in New York City, venture capital firms such as Andreessen Horowitz, Union Square Ventures, and Founders Fund announced new investments in blockchain startups.
New Funding: At the conference, Layer 1 blockchain, NovaChain, secured a $25 million Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz, while DeFi lending platform, LiquiD, raised $15 million from Founders Fund and Union Square Ventures.
These developments demonstrate the growing interest in web3 startups and blockchain innovation. As the industry continues to evolve, expect more venture capital investments and startup pitch competitions at conferences this year.
